The Asian Appetizer Buffet!
Here's our cold asian appetizer buffet. I was in the group with all the asian students in the class (ironic?). I am the one staring to the distance and not at the camera on the far left (and obviously, the only one thats not Asian.
Man, I love my real asian food! You need to start making spring rolls - you should post your recipe, or at least the dipping sauce! Last time I ordered them there was like... weird porky-bacon strips in it, I was so confused.
haha, bacon? i know i am a health food junkie, but i admit, a little bacon makes everything taste better, but in spring rolls? i'll post the recipes from the buffet. the spring rolls dont have a conventional recipe because all were a little different, some had shrimp/crab/surimi/pork (left over from a our chui sui pork that we served at the buffet). there was rice noodles in all of them but we varied with the veggies with some sort of mix of strips of peppers, carrots, scallions, sprouts, lettuce, basil, mint, mango, and avocado al wraped up in those asian rice papers. Since i was in the group with all the asian, they made the sauce they knew from home which was a blend of chilli paste, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, and peanut butter (yum!).
